Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI)

For more than 25 years, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) has used improvement science to advance and sustain better outcomes in health and health care across the world. It brings awareness of safety and quality to millions, accelerates learning and the systematic improvement of care, develops solutions to previously intractable challenges, and mobilises health systems, communities, regions, and nations to reduce harm and deaths. It works in collaboration with the growing IHI community to spark bold, inventive ways to improve the health of individuals and populations.

It generates optimism, harvest fresh ideas, and supports anyone, anywhere who wants to profoundly change health and health care for the better.

Sharing learning
In June 2023 delegates from across Europe, USA and the UK attended the IHI International Forum in Copenhagen. The theme was “Adopting to a changing world: equity, sustainability and wellbeing for all”. The aim of the event was to reunite the international improvement community in three days of discussion, collaboration and information sharing.

HSC staff who attended the Forum shared their learning at a virtual HSCQI Community Event on Wednesday 27 Sept 2023 at 10.00am-11.30am. This was a great opportunity for anyone with a curiosity about or passion for QI to find out about some of the improvement work happening across HSC.
