Medicines Optimization Innovation Centre (MOIC)
We are a regional centre in Northern Ireland dedicated to delivering medicines optimisation to the people of Northern Ireland. We are uniquely positioned to work alongside the health sector and the private sector to improve medicines use and patient care. We are the only dedicated medicines optimisation centre in Europe.
We provide research, project management and offer professional expertise on projects that will improve patient care on medicines use. MOIC engage with partners across Europe and throughout the world to learn and engage with professionals on best practice and bring his learning back to Northern Ireland.
What we do
- Research and service development projects to improve patient care
- Knowledge transfer of novel pharmacy systems across Europe
- Develop integrated technology solutions to promote better health outcomes
- Training and development programmes for healthcare professionals from other countries, short and long term.
Although the centre is part of a new innovation and education facility at the Northern Trust and it will initially develop and test solutions for the benefit of the local health and social care system, there is also the potential for these to be developed commercially, marketed and sold to other countries.
