Timely Access to Safe Care
The Timely Access to Safe Care (TASC) programme was developed in
response to a mandate issued by the HSCQI Leadership Alliance in
November 2021 to use a QI approach to reducing waiting times.
TASC was designed as a 2-Stage programme and was launched in Nov 2022.
- TASC Stage 1 (November 2022–May 2023) was focused on identifying and assessing the potential of 21 Trust-based QI projects within 6 workstreams for system-wide scale and spread.
- Following a 3-step assessment process, using recognised tools and input from a panel of objective assessors, three project areas/workstreams were selected to progress to TASC Stage 2 (September 2023-May 2024) on the basis of their readiness for scale and spread at that time.
- TASC Stage 2 (September 2023–May 2024) is focused on system-wide co-innovation and adoption of projects selected during TASC Stage 1. There are 21 project teams in TASC Stage 2 (3 TASC 1 innovator teams and 18 co-innovator teams) within 3 workstreams.
