Health and Social Care Quality Improvement (HSCQI) Timely Access to Safe Care Learning Session

8 November 2022

HSCQI held its first Timely Access to Safe Care (TASC) Learning Session on Friday, November 4th.

There was a palpable buzz in the room as more than 20 teams from across the Health and Social Care system in Northern Ireland came together to share and learn at the HSCQI regional event.

Dr Aideen Keaney, Director HSCQI, and Dr Cathy Jack, Chief Executive, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and Chair of HSCQI Leadership Alliance, were among those who spoke at the event, where participants were reminded that Timely Access to Safe Care was “fundamentally a patient safety issue”.

The event also heard from Thomas Monaghan, a leading Quality Improvement (QI) professional from Healthcare Improvement Scotland. Thomas shared experience and learning and demonstrated how QI is actively improving access to care in Scotland.

As well as providing valuable networking and collaboration opportunities, the teams attending were able to work together in a focused way to share local knowledge and expertise and move forward with their QI projects.

The event marked an important milestone in the HSCQI Timely Access to Safe Care Programme in Northern Ireland, with further HSCQI events planned.
