HSCQI Awards 2020 open

8 October 2020

AWARDS 2020 OPEN !

Applications are open for HSCQI  Awards 2020. These annual awards celebrate and recognise the innovative and excellent QI work going on across health and social care in the region. The Improvement Hub for HSCQI is inviting organisations to submit applications from individuals or teams (up to maximum of five  applications per organisation, seven for the Belfast HSC Trust). Each of the five Category winners will be awarded £800 with the overall winner receiving a total prize of £1,600, to be put towards expenses, linked with advancing the Teams’ improvement goals.

Dr Aideen Keaney, Director of HSCQI Network and Hub commented:

‘The Annual HSCQI Awards provide a regional platform to allow teams to showcase and share their learning from the excellent Quality Improvement work that they have been leading on and for this work to be recognised and celebrated at a regional level. This year, we have seen how many improvements and innovations have been taking place both before and during Covid 19, and know that many staff have used a Quality Improvement approach when leading on these initiatives. I look forward to seeing the 2020 HSCQI Award submissions and to finding out more about how the use of a Quality  Improvement approach has helped to ensure the success of these initiatives. In particular, I am looking forward to learning how these improvements and innovations are making a real difference to the lives of those who use and work within, the Northern Ireland Health and Social Care system.’

The overall HSC Quality Improvement Award will be awarded to the individual/team category winner that has made the greatest contribution to quality improvement and safety in Health and Social Care.

The 5 category awards, each linked to projects advancing quality improvement are:

  • Partnership working/Co-production
  • Innovation/transformation in Care
  • Integrating Care across boundaries
  • Building reliable care
  • Primary Care (for general practice only)

Given the COVID-19 pressures, we welcome any application in the categories above that applies some structured improvement approaches.  These do not have to be related to COVID-19 and can be contemporaneous or from the last 24 months at the time of application.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to showcase your great QI work and share your experience with colleagues across the Health and Social Care Sector. The closing date for applications is 4 January 2021.
