Work to support learning from Covid19 in relation to the ‘service delivery innovation rebuild work stream’.

HSCQI  is in the business of building relationships, creating partnerships and sharing and  developing QI expertise and capability to improve services for our citizens. This has been evidenced very strongly as we move forward to establish a regional learning system, based initially on learning from Covid19 and linking with the HSC Rebuild Service Delivery Innovation work stream.  The work stream which reports to Dr Anne Kilgallen, identified three areas of change and innovation that have improved patient/service user care and has taken forward these areas with analysis of supporting evidence, data and methodologies. HSCQI presented the recommendations of this work on 5 October at the Health and Social Care Quality Improvement (HSCQI) Regional Sharing Learning from COVID-19 Event which was attended by the Minister for Health.

The three themes are :

  • staff psychological well-being
  • the use of technology for virtual visiting to connect families and loved ones
  • the use of technology for virtual consultations to connect patients and healthcare professionals
