Northern Ireland has 327 GP Practices. The emergence of COVID-19 saw a seismic change in General Practice with significant clinical, operational & educational challenges, and information from multiple sources was emerging at an overwhelming pace. It was evident that a centralised information platform for GP Primary Care was needed. With support and funding from the Eastern Federation Support Unit (FSU), from concept to website launch in April 2020, took just three weeks. A live web-based educational programme started soon after, and has acted as a catalyst for enhanced primary and secondary care understanding & communication.
